Household & Home Improvement
Company Overview
Match ’N Patch was created to solve common household damage like scratches and scuffs. Founded by Rob, an industrial designer, it began as a simple, affordable home repair solution. As demand grew, so did the product line—now offering practical, budget-friendly fixes for everyday furniture damage.
The Challenge
Match ’N Patch thrived during the pandemic, as more people turned to DIY home repairs while staying indoors. Sales surged as budget-conscious consumers sought affordable solutions to fix their furniture. However, once the pandemic ended, the brand faced declining conversion rates due to shifting consumer behavior and an influx of low-cost competitors from China.
This raised a critical question: Was this a race to the bottom, or could Match ’N Patch reclaim its market position without slashing prices?
The Transformation
Advancer stopped the race to the bottom by implementing targeted, strategic price adjustments rather than across-the-board discounts. We introduced dynamic price decreases at key times to temporarily boost Best Seller Rank (BSR) while maintaining strong margins.
Additionally, we:
Reallocated ad spend to high-impact campaigns, increasing visibility without waste.
Optimized product positioning, focusing on quality rather than competing on price.
Reduced TACoS from 35% to 17.6% in under 5 months—without sacrificing revenue.
Not only maintained revenue but increased it, proving that smart strategy beats price-cutting.
